What Is Form SI-550
Form SI-550 refers to a form called “Secretary of State Statement of Information” applicable to California stock, an agricultural cooperative, and foreign corporations.
The main reason why an SI-550 online or paper form will be required to be completed is to ensure that the California Secretary of State has the latest and most accurate information about your business.
Typically, the information that the CA State requires is:
- The name of your business entity
- The name of its directors and officers
- The place of business and mailing address
- The nature of your business operations
Companies must ensure they file their California Form SI-550 to remain in good standing with the state.
Who Must File A Form SI-550
Here is the list of who must complete a Form SI-550 in California:
- Domestic stock corporations formed in California
- Foreign corporations registered in California
- Agricultural cooperatives
If any corporation transacts business in the State of California, they must ensure they get registered with the Secretary of State.
Once registered, corporations in California will then need to regularly file their Form SI 550 to maintain a good status.
How Form SI-550 Works
Every corporation registered in the State of California who is either formed there or registered there as a foreign entity, along with agricultural cooperatives, must file an SI-550 to report any changes to their declared company information.
If the company does not have any changes to report, the Form SI-550NC can be used (where “NC” refers to “No Change”).
Status of Corporation
You can only file an SI 550 California or SI 550 NC if you have a registered entity that has an active status or a suspended/forfeited status on record.

If your company status is suspended or forfeited, you must resolve your status before being able to file your SI 550 form.

- Initial filing: $25
- Periodic filing (yearly): $25
If you file your SI-550 form before the next required due date but after the initial or required filing requirements have been met, there will be no fees charged.

When To File An SI-550 Form

The filing period for entities represents their registration month and the five months prior to the registration month.
In essence, there is a statutory required 6-month filing window that corporations have to file their SI-550 form.
